in times of need as well as happiness, or just there for a loving hug.

I recently met with this very elitist person and put my foot down when he said something. It feels quite odd to stand up to what you believe in, because all this while, we've been hanging out with people who despite being different, went through the same life with us. It's hard to meet and interact with people from the other side of the 'fence' so to speak - it's hard to finally meet someone who came from a privileged background.

I don't necessarily think they are better than me, however, it is hard to work in an environment when all they think is wanting to get one-up against you, instead of appreciating the various strengths we all come from. It's highly annoying and goes against my personal philosophy when it comes to work.
