The week goes on…
Wednesday, after my tuition kids, I went to Holland V with Chris to have dinner with Rahman before he leaves for Tekong. Half the time I was feeling like he's going to another country, preparing shampoo, soap and everything. Then again, some would argue that it IS another country.
I was quite tired and bitchy, plus the late nights on mon and tue back-to-back was putting a strain on my dad, so I went home early (which means before he sleeps). Chris went to his godparents house and I went home alone.
Sometimes when your friendship becomes too comfortable, it becomes like family - like we used to have to go home together, like you know friends and all, you would want to travel home together. However, Chris and I were like "aiyah go home separately lah!" and we weren't affected it at all.
So yeah, moving on…thursday was spent moping around - sleeping and playing L4D2. These days I have the urge to build houses, so I might just revisit Sims 3. Been living in the virtual world for quite some time. I guess it's just a better way to pass time - besides practising my piano. I need to find my right-brain back….the left brained functions are taking over so badly that I can't even 'feel' the music anymore. =( *emo
Friday was spent with Xinglin and the IT show. Was thinking about shopping for earphones and buying ink catridges…as well as getting a key board protector for my macbook. Ink catridges cannot be found, key board protector was way too expensive (even the cheaper ones) and the earphones that xinglin recommended were just way too expensive and out of my league. I must say, I'm a fan of Klipsch S4 (sorry, Xinglin, your biasness just didn't rub off me!). I prefer clarity and depth rather than having a heavy bass…
Got scolded for using lousy files and for not ripping my music in WAV format. OK FINE! I didn't know~
In any case, I scolded Xinglin for mistaking Lounge music, as Jazz…such blasphemy. I almost wanted to choke on mash potato (we were snacking at KFC) and showed him what jazz MEANS.
I would say we're fair and square.
So later, headed to Armenian street's Peek to buy Shang her Revelog films. I didn't know what it was so I was just asking the sales person what are Revolog films and what the hell are they all about. Pretty interesting! This is what it looks like for Revolog Kolor Film. There are many other effects like Tesla (lightning) or Volvox (little green sparkles)...
These films are all handmade! I never thought about films being hand-made, and how that actually works.
Xinglin felt like a noob in the antique film analogue camera shop (What is DSLR?!) and I felt like a fish out of water. We did see old school Polariod cameras and they look like toys!
For those who are curious, you can go to 36th Armenian Street, Peek-Tures.com to take a look!
Some bits of history….
Do you know the Polariod that you all instant-film junkies are holding are not rightfully called "Polariod"? Polariod is the COMPANY that popularised the instant-film. The latest instant-film cameras are actually made by FujiFilm, and is called Instanx.
In any case, Monday will be a day of fooling around at Xinglin's house, to play Little Big Planet (my fav PS3 game besides assassin's creed)…*cuteness
*AH~ Can't wait to play!
I love the game…so creative and cooperative. I think I like games like L4D2 and little big planet is because they require people, brains and teamwork….the obstacles in LBP need to think de, not all are based on psycho-motor skills ok!
