25th Anniversary Dinner

So 6 June was the 25th Anniversary celebratory dinner of YJC. Frankly, I'm only there because of Ms Luo invited, if not I also won't be bothered. HAHA, having said, this is the first formal dinner, because I never got to experience one (JC no prom).

Xinglin kindly offered (he really didn't have much of a choice because I told him I was wearing my 5 inch heels) to send Sylves, Qabir and I down to Shangri-la. I was late because my dress's zipper was stuck and I spent like 15mins extra hopping around the house trying to pull it up. Slapped on my make up on 20mins (which is damn fast for this kind of occasion) and curled my hair in another 20mins. Then crazily cabbed down to yishun mrt to meet sylves to train down to YCK. *phew STILL got scolded for being late. These men have no sympathy.

So happened, that Xinglin's paranoia about jams (we were going in the opposite direction of everyone else) didn't happen and reached the place with more than 20mins to spare.

The moment I entered the ballroom, the first person I saw, was Ms Aminah. I almost wanted to fall from my heels. In any case, we meet ms luo at the reception area for our tickets. All of us were hungry that we were chanting for the doors to open.

It was quite funny, because the girls were wearing heels, then when we met Guanyu at the lobby and she was wearing heels evern higher than mine. So naturally, we took the time to gloat for being taller than the guys. HAHAHA! so petty, but fun all the same.

So xinglin and I were both competing to see who is taller. LOL…sorry the longer necked person wins.

So after the (boring) dinner, the guys who are not full from the pea-sized servings, decided to go elsewhere for dimsum. We contemplated XLB at Holland V, but was all booked when we called. With awesome technology and Guanyu's resourcefulness, we headed to swee chun at Jalan Besar (near her house, so can shun bian send her back) to have late night dim sum. It was delicious, more so than the food at Shangri-la. Will definitely be coming back here.

The things you can do with a car…*sigh

So we ordered drinks and they came in such cute cups! The cup is super old school and adorable!
Then yesterday morning/lunch was spent with Cat and at Watami (that is seemingly our favourite haunt) before meeting Qabir at YCK for a tennis game. I was getting trashed half the time because he kept giving me slices. Practiced how to catch them and if not for my blisters, I would have actually tried to run after them.

There was a lot of miscommunication about how where we're going for dinner. Ended up Xinglin wanted to try the butter chicken that Guanyu has been talking about all the time. So Xinglin drove to Clementi (opposite Beauty World) to one of the Indian stalls there. Luckily I ordered a prata and butter chicken because the rest who ordered full meals were so stuffed by the end of it. The butter chicken was gooooood! So after that, there was talk about desserts and so we drove to Adam Road Serene Centre's Island Creamery to have the ice-cream. Decided to have something refreshing like Pear Sake Sorbet and it was nice! Supposed to have alcohol, but I can't taste any sia D=

In any case, Benji had teh terik and it was nice! Will buy a tub home next time…

The place was closing soon and so we headed back to the car. While we were in, Guanyu and Benji said "Let's go to the airport!" and both Xinglin and I were "WHAT?!" (it was 10pm) and we were like asking Qabir and he simply said, "I have a vested interest. I live in Simei." So the kind-hearted Xinglin just drove us all there.

So went to T3 and walked around. Benji decided to be funny and say "let's count the number of tiles this floor have. Oh look, one tile is *takes off slippers to measure* 3 and a half foot wide."

We were all O.O"…then the lameness started and so Xinglin started his 冷笑话 and we were all =.=" to the max. Some times emoticons express what words can't. Originally wanted to play monopoly deal but ended up talking cock at Killiney Kopitiam. Which was fine anyway since it was like so funny to hang out with Qabir, Guanyu, Benji and Xinglin. Laughed all the way through to dessert. In any case, we were all exhausted by 12am and headed back home. Guanyu and Benji slept in the car while Xinglin and I talked about stars. Like how city lights are so bright that it shields the beautiful night sky. He told me about his time in Tekong and they used night vision goggles to oogle at the skies and it was beautiful…walao, i wanna try leh!

HAHA…but i dashed his hope about a shooting star. His platoon thought they saw a shooting star, but I told him that's most probably just a falling meteorite. LOL….he accused me of dashing the romanticism of it all. =X too bad, fact over fiction. But given that, it's beautiful all the same isn't it? Falling rocks from the sky? =D

It was quite an eventful mon-tue back to back and today, heading to Holland V again to meet up with Rahman and Chris for thai food before Rahman enlists this Friday =) All's well!

I need a break on Thursday. *whew
