Rally
I decided to get a piece of the action, after all this is a historic moment, and being a busy-body, I don't want to miss it.
The funny thing was that I was getting twitter updates about Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding at the same time while waiting for the WP to start. Transnationalism is a mind-boggling thing.
In any case, I must disclaim any support for WP. My purpose for going to the rally is because I think the focus of this election lies there, and because of that, it's a great way to see how the crowd reacts, as well as listen to the issues they might raise for Singapore.
Quite pleased that they don't just smear the PAP, but also touched on 'solid issues'. In any case, loopholes here and there, is business as usual.
But this is a rally, and this is politics. The point is to rally (duh?) spirits based on what has been said before. To be able to draw a crowd, is already a feat and I guess pictures speak louder. This is no where near Hougang ward, but I thought it's pretty impressive in itself.

After looking at this picture, who can say that Singaporeans are politically apathetic? There is a difference between political apathy, and political silence. The people being in the latter position, is sometimes not voluntary. Silent people do not make apathetic people, and from what I learnt in this rally, it just makes pent up people.
