Long-awaited meet up!
Today finally met shangyi...haha...been ages since we've met. Then thinking on hindsight, it has been 6months since the day we met for her bday.....
it was a really fun day! Cat brought her NM friends from NUS, Jason and Jolene. For the whole time, I keep thinking to myself, "How to spell Jolene's name arh?" HAHAHA! then i very embarassed to talk to her (Cat if you read this, help me apologise Jolene on my behalf for being off-handish)
We went to TACTILE, which showcased student's work. I thought some of them were really good...=D it's even better when entrance is free!HAHAHA...saw a disturbing (i thought) and good (shangyi thought) video of stills but played with continous sound. it was just freakish.
There's was another work that their seniors did with rust =D it was landscape i think and the 'ink' was rust! COOL RIGHT? and another RJ student did something with tape to make the work on the wall...u have to see it to know what i'm talking about.
in any case, we hopped over to the national museum for the egyptian exhibit "the quest for immortality". I think the exhibit really achieved one thing. Awe...in the sense that we can appreciate how they actually deal with death and made it into an artform. It's so inspiring to learn. But i advise people to read up on egyptian mythology before going...appreciation will be more =D
Before we went into the exhibit proper, there was an activity corner where we could play with. there was this origami pyramid that we could try to fold...only shangyi succeeded with her hurrumping that "all i can say is that they have lousy instructions." andre and i gave up and just handed her our pyramids to complete...HAHA!easy way out la huh...let 'professionals' do it.
Then jason and jolene left so andre (shangyi and cat's AEP friend in NYJC), shangyi and cat went to find seowling...long time never see her liao...HAHA, so i decided to join them for dinner with their teacher miss kwok (i think it's vonk's teacher as well). But Cat and I decided to go off dinner by ourselves and we 'landed' up in swensens...after that walked around PS, and then chill at starbucks until they finished...then we crapped at swensen's even more after that...HAHAHAHA
it was fun fun fun! haven't laughed like a mad woman in a long while.
=D
was talking to cat about 222 with pictures...etc...haha realised how proud i am of them.
So it was after all an enjoyable day...should hang out again sometime!
