police...justice
today my dad handed in the evidence regarding the theft of his handphone and our confidential documents....
my lawyer and his police friend both said that if my uncle is convicted, he'll be in deep shit.
no one wants this to happen....but to protect the interests of my mum, i don't see that we have much of a choice. it's just too much and they have gone too far (to extreme lengths even) to get what they think is right. i don't deny their intentions...but i have reservations about their actions about it.
why go to such lengths to prove an innocent man guilty and be made guilty in the process...i appreciate that my mum means that much to them, but i don't think my uncle realises the grave consequences of his mistake....perhaps being convicted about 23 years ago on a small fine regarding a heavy theft case was a testament that he can do it again?
I don't know...but i support with what my dad is doing - which is to do what is right. To report it to the police and let them handle, eventually justice will prove who's innocent. It could be us, it could be them...but this matter is not for us to decide. I know some ppl may feel that since these are my relatives and so we should show some leniency. However, we have given into them so many times to the point that now, with the ongoing court case, we have now disadvantaged ourselves. Furthermore, we have done nothing illegal - criminal - to achieve our ends.
Haiz....who wants it to end like that....but if u have the mind to commit an offence, then one should also have the courage to face the consequences. I believe it is very clear that lifting confidential documents from another's house, and stealing of a handphone is punitive. There's no 2 ways about it. One could argue that my uncle just wanted to protect my mum by looking into her family's and her bank account. There are legitimate avenues to do so...but asking his lawyer to write to us. The reason why he had to resort to such means, is because he knows that without looking at our bank statements, he cannot proceed on the court order. So thats why...he's desperate? even so...we have nothing to hide because we didn't even touch the money then. Now that we come to understand how the law works regarding the monies, i wouldn't even think about using it anymore. so this whole wild goose chase is really for naught from my point of view...it's really jumping to conclusions and being paranoid about the "what might happen if i don't do this"s. It has nothing to do with the true reflection of the reality.
Perhaps people want to believe what they think is true? Hahaha..from anthro reading, at least what's what economists are portrayed as!
There's another conflict within me, and suddenly, my world is painted in shades of grey.
