okay...the more important things first.we celebrated nat's and kris's birthday today!hahaha...i woke up at 6am to bake a cake, which failed in the end so floundered around centerpoint to get it...handed the cake to the friendly waiter and went to orchard to meet xinyi...
then later beryl and then nat...hahaha...kris was late, but it's okay, since she's one of the birthday girls.
it was a bit rushed (cuz the chef going off at 2:30pm) on the orders, but i think it's worth it,the service is damn good and more importantly, it's CHEAP!...hahahaha, then later after seeing kris, nat and xinyi off (in that order), beryl and i went shopping for clothes. and god, mango is like WWIII can?i can hardly fit in the shop when it's bursting with ppl...but beryl got what she wanted so i guess it's worth going through "war"=)
Happy 19Th nat!
Happy 18th kris!(forever young...heehee)

i came back home and signed in my msn messenger. the pop up window of the email previews came and 2nd on the list was an email informing me that the status of my application has changed. immediately, everything chilled. in my mind there were hundreds of vulgarities like "oh &*%^$&@! it's imperial...!##@$*(*#@$"
so i logged into track immediately (its like an online update system lah) and checked.
I got CONDITIONAL offer by Imperial College....
(there are 3 types: conditional, unconditional, unsuccessful. unconditional means the university says, "we welcome you with open arms."conditional means they say, "we welcome you, but if you fulfil this set of requirements" and unsuccessful, is well, unsucessful)
and the condition is that i must terminate my diploma course and get the university of canberra to write in a letter to them.
okay...although it's not an unconditional offer, but i'm still happy. because the condition i must meet is not something like "you must obtain an A in chemistry " etc.
THANK GOODNESS...
yeah, i'm extremely happy. and although i know maybe that i may not have enough moolah to go, but at least, i can carry the knowledge that i've at least been offered a place as reputable as imperial. my dream is half-way there already. it's only a matter of whether my mum cna get a job, get migrant-worker status and whether my fees can be changed from international to home.
BUT at least, i'm glad that my plan has moved 1 step ahead.
i'm still hoping and needing all the luck i can get =)
i'd love to hug everyone i can before i go....because i never know when i'll be able to see or touch them again.

okay, let's put things in perspective.
some of you might be puzzled as to why is there a big ho-ha over Imperial. here are the 5 things i feel tt drives me there...
1) It's the 5th best university in the WORLD
2) It's geology students are renowned for their fieldwork skills.
3) It is rated 5*A for research for geology, the highest a university can obtain
4) It's near hyde park and the royal albert hall =)
5) and this: my classroom is in there, somewhere i think hahahaha.....
