finally, i've settled all my scholarship applications....FINALLY!
wohoo!
okay, i dun sound very excited but blimey, it's been crazy and there are so many different essays to write. feels like doing the WR all over again - minus the teamwork.
but yeah, really grateful to the following people who've helped me.
1) YVONNE KUAN - okay, she deserves the honors in caps because she's the only one who read all SIX of my essays...yeah...trust me, those read my english knows what i'm talking about. I'm the type of person who uses chinese sentence structure for english essays and uses english sentence structures for chinese ones.
2) kris - yeah...her down-to-each-word analysis never fails to make my essay perkier...it was like the perfect analysis..hahahaha, thanks loads pal! pity we didn't have more time (and patience hahahaha...) to work on it. gam xia gam xia...if i get the MOE one, sure will treat you to zoo!
3) Shangyi - hahahaha....oh man, couldn't say how appreciative i was when you replied, "how can i help" when i was just simply ranting on writing all those essays...forever grateful dear friend...(still didn't forsake me in the end). anyway, your insights provided another dimension which was immensely helpful.
4) chris - hahaha...LAO GONG! thanks for helping me to simplify and the inspiration. lol, maybe botak jones had something to do with it? looking forward to out next shopping trip!
5) xinyi and nat: thanks for reading my atrocious crap despite your busy schedules...thanks darls for cheering me up - like always.
6) darren: thank you? hahahaha....maybe not so lah cuz you also damn reluctant to read my essay...nugget. anyway, really appreciate your help too =)
7) weixiang - thanks for the "fanciful"...hahaha...triggered something that made me change the essay...lol
8) mr david, ms luo and mdm. aisha: i can't thank you all enough for the wonderful appraisals. I'm forever indebted to you all.

okay...that's enough of thank you-s for now.
hahaha....right now, i'm just waiting to hear from them. that wednesday, i took time off to go down to the scholarhips office to personally hand in my supporting documents. I don't know how to feel. It may seem like i've wasted a trip. But i think the personal touch is impt..then again, i don't know if it really matteed at all.
*takes a deep breath*
phew~
i'm just glad that the big hoo-ha is over...hahaha, at least until we know the short-listing. It's like some scholarships have already start shortlisting people. This almost feels like an unwanted toy left on the shelf. As you see other Barbies and Legos being picked off by kids, the latter toys are often left behind and the shelf suddenly feels much bigger.
I feel that my life has taken on a whole new level. With or without the scholarship, I can feel the momentum picking up speed. If this scholarship comes through, then perhaps it is a certain sign that what i feel is more or less assured.
wish me luck everyone!
I want this so much that it hurts knowing that there is one in a million chance they'll pick me.
Pick the non-straight A's, non-president me....to hell with it, I'm not giving up. At least, i practice what i preach. I wrote determination and perseverance in most of my essays - that is what i'm going to do.
i have no regrets...at least i tried.
