Life Expectancy: 65 Years

An avid collector of your hopes and worries, a romantic at heart.
She thanks her fairies, for blessing her with people who know compassion down to an art.
For accepting her for who she is, who never fails to turn up,
in times of need as well as happiness, or just there for a loving hug.

they just don't understand....
i don't understand computers, neither do i proclaim myself to be an expert in one...but some things really *sighs*
you see, my mum keeps insisting that there is a chinese program installed in our computer by the computer guy. but the thing is, when i go and search the whole computer's programs and everything, practically opened every file, there was not such program. not hanshen, not chinese star.....NOTHING...
and yet my mum have to keep foolishly insist that it's in the toolbars. come on la, who are you trying to kid? somehow i got this bad feeling the computer guy cheated her la...haiz...
anyway, there's no use arguing lor, i'm so pissed and fed-up by her foolish actions, practically redoing what i was doing all a long. she even went out that far to insist that the windows media player icon in your toolbar is the chinese software....please lor...
haiz, i can't be bothered with her already la. sometimes, parents just drive me crazy....they think they know everything, like my dad....sometimes, a little understanding can go a long way, but they just don't bother.....
sometimes i feel like throwing all the useless stuff out and start reading the books that i want to read, travel the places i want to travel and most of all....do the things i longed to do.
you know, there's only so much time we have left in the world, and we spend about 25 years of our lives studying...is it really all to waste?
like you study so hard, get a high-paying job (assuming all goes well la) and work under tremendous stress...you have to stay back late in the office almost every night and please the same faces everyday. so what's all the studying for? for better paying jobs?
but come on la, who are you trying to kid? with better jobs you get high-levels of stress also. with each promotion, there is additional work to be done. there's no end to it, so why the hell do we study so hard for?
i feel that somehow, we must be taught how to appreciate life. not the mundane stuff like how mountains form, or finding how fast the ball rolls down a slope or straining your eyes to draw the stomata over the microscope....why can't we be taught to enjoy the simple things in life? like the beauty of the symmetry of Mt Fuji, the simplicity of calculating the physics of everyday life (suspension bridge) and the wonders of our our body maintains chemistry.....
we are taught facts everyday....tested on them endlessly, but no one bothers to ask us if what we learn-we appreciate....
friends who study endlessly don't know what they're studying for. i understand what the teacher means by "relate it to singapore" it means appreciate the facts and link them into your life...i mean that's the point of studyinf what.....you don't study to get into university to get a good job and stress yourself later on, but study so that you can make sense of your surroundings.
"I will never let my schooling interfere with my education"- Mark Twain
yes....education in the truest sense of the word....the secret of still wanting to study after 17 years of continuous education....it is passion
